I am always traveling, even when I’m standing still. And I always have a thousand voyages in mind, to the places I don’t even know exist, dimensions I don’t even yet realise.
I like to keep the wheel turning!
Z the mum says that I am like a free-floating moon that’s revolving arbitrarily, always drifting around in anticipation of some meteoric impact to veer my orientation.
And Jack London says that one is better off moving and aglow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
And now, a bit of formalities. My full name is Deja Dragovic, and I’m an active member of the
Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ)
Reporters Without Borders/ Reporters Sans Frontiers (RSF)
Global Freedom of Expression Network (IFEX)
Earth Journalism Network (EJN)
Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF)
I work with and report for
OOska News (AquaNow.Info)
and have been commissioned to write articles for, or have had articles featured in:
National Geographic Traveler (UK ed.), National Geographic Go Green, UNEP/Treehugger,
Escape from America Magazine, Respond Magazine, Living Green Mag, Travel Culture
Mag, Danube River Cruises, Photodox, Diario en Bici (en español), Travel Origins Mag,

Some of the links have died in the meantime, but here, on this blog, I repost everything I’ve had published online, which makes this the best archive of my work. Although I consider this site my creative space, mostly it’s just a teaser; on a good day – a slice of my portfolio.
I write in 4 languages – English, Serbo-Croatian, Italian and Russian
but also speak some conversational French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
If you think I can contribute to your website, publication or project in some way, or you feel you’re on the same frequency and just want to say hello, drop me a line here or by email.
You can also find me regularly Tweeting about social, urban and environmental issues, sustainability, cycling and related topics @dejaskitalica. Get in touch!
